Client: Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Ministry of Energy
Services: Feasibility study, IEE for reuse of solid waste at existing old landfills and evaluating
nationwide landfill potential for development of alternative energy from waste
To extract the greatest value from solid waste and to develop alternative energy, the DEDE’s 15-year Renewable Energy Development Plan (REDP) for development of alternative energy calls for a study of the potential for generating energy from solid waste at existing landfills.
This would include refuse-derived fuel (RDF), biogas and oil from pyrolysis. Based on our study, at least 10 landfills with potential for biogas generation and at least 30 landfills with potential for RDF and pyrolysis oil production were iden.
